Clarks Creek students learn to live by the five standards of PRIDE as described above. Students work to achieve personal goals by demonstrating PRIDE while also working to help our school as a whole.

Based on positive behavior intervention and supports (known as PBIS in education-speak), students are rewarded for showing their PRIDE at school. When caught showing PRIDE, students are awarded credits which then accumulate to become PRIDE bands. In addition, this encourages students to work together to fill our giant credit-collector which goes towards an all-school reward. Quarterly PRIDE convocations serve to bring our students together to celebrate their accomplishments.

CLARKS CREEK IS A BULLY-FREE ZONE!

We hope that every child's Clarks Creek experience allows them to feel safe and welcome every day!

We do not tolerate bullying. At times, though, it can be challenging to determine if bullying is actually occurring. Here is how Indiana legally defines bullying:

Bullying means "overt, unwanted, repeated acts or gestures, including verbal or written communications or images transmitted in any manner (including digitally or electronically), physical acts, aggression, or any other behaviors, that are committed by a student or group of students against another student, with the intent to harass, ridicule, humiliate, intimidate, or harm the targeted student, and create for the targeted student an objectively hostile school environment."

Any student who witnesses or is a victim of bullying behavior should immediately report it to the nearest adults at school. It is much more effective to address such behavior as it happens. As a parent, if your child talks about behavior that you think might fall under the definition of bullying behavior, please report it immediately to our school.

We do not tolerate bullying, but we can't resolve these situations if we aren't aware of them. We appreciate our students and parents for their help as we work together to keep Clarks Creek a bully-free zone!

A MESSAGE FROM MR. KING

I am honored to serve as the principal of Clarks Creek Elementary School and to be part of Plainfield Community School Corporation. I joined Clarks Creek Elementary in the 2025-2026 school year after previously serving as principal at Van Buren Elementary here in Plainfield. I am excited to continue partnering with students, families, and staff in support of a strong school community. This will be my 17th year as an educator. Previously, I served as a building administrator and spent nine years in the classroom. Each school year brings new excitement, new opportunities, and new possibilities, and I cannot wait to see all that we accomplish together during the 2026-2027 school year.

Clarks Creek Elementary is a warm and welcoming school community. We have an incredible staff that is student-centered in all that we do. Our focus is on strong classroom instruction, clear systems that support students, and creating a school where students and families feel welcome. Through The Clarks Creek Way, we will continue to emphasize academic growth, positive relationships, strong character, and the importance of doing what is best for students each day. Most importantly, our staff works hard to bring joy to learning so that students are excited to share their school experiences with their families.

Finally, thank you for sharing your children with us. It is an honor and privilege to serve the Clarks Creek and Plainfield community. We value your children, your input, and your partnership. Together, we are looking forward to a great school year!

Sincerely,

Ryan King, Principal
